Yard playbook · Equipment hire
No Paid link? No keys. No exceptions.
Rental margins are thin and weekends are chaotic. PayXT lets counter staff and drivers collect deposits and daily rates by text—before iron leaves the yard.

Problem 1
“I’ll pay when I bring it back”
Machines leave on a handshake; returns become disputes.
PayXT fix
Require a deposit Stripe link at pickup. Add remaining rental days + delivery as a second link at return if needed.
Problem 2
Counter card terminal bottleneck
Saturday mornings stack five customers behind one reader.
PayXT fix
Text checkout links while contracts print. Customers pay in line on their own phones.
Problem 3
Forgotten damage waivers
Verbal upsells never hit the invoice.
PayXT fix
Save waiver and delivery fees as quick services; attach them every time.
Busy-season vs slow-season tactics
Peak construction months
Prioritize deposit-first links on high-demand lifts and excavators. Use fee gross-up on multi-day rentals so processing does not erase utilization gains.
Shoulder / rain weeks
Push prepaid specials via SMS links for idle fleet. Faster checkout converts browsers who would otherwise “think about it.”
Equipment rental FAQs
Can I charge a hold now and capture later?
PayXT creates Stripe Checkout payment links for collecting amounts due. For complex auth/capture holds, use your Stripe Dashboard policies alongside PayXT invoices for deposits and balances.
Do renters need to install anything?
No. Checkout is a mobile web page. Apple Pay / Google Pay appear when Stripe enables them for your account.
How do delivery drivers collect on-site?
Driver opens PayXT, selects the customer/service, texts the link on arrival—before unloading.
